Toorak Gardens, South Australia

The Anglican Parish of St Theodore's recognises that we worship on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people. We express our gratitude in the sharing of this land; our sorrow for the personal, spiritual and cultural costs of that sharing; and our hope that we may walk together in harmony in the spirit of reconciliation.

located between St Theodore's Anglican Church and the Church Hall, is offered to the community as an oasis, a place of stillness and reflection, of peacefulness and beauty. The Garden has a Mediterranean-style displaying seasonal change, colour and perfume while being low water use and low maintenance. The plants and materials have been selected to respect the scale of the church buildings while still creating a warm and welcoming space. The Community Spiritual Garden is a member of The Quiet Garden Movement https://quietgarden.org which nurtures access to outdoor space for prayer, reflection and rest and creates opportunities for people to experience silence, restfulness and contemplative practices.

situated behind the eastern wall at the back of the church building. It is intended for the interment of the ashes of members of the congregation and their immediate families . . . although the criteria can be extended to people who have other associations with the parish. The ashes are interred in a grid system on the lawn in the garden and there is a corresponding plaque affixed to the wall. The garden is a lovely place for quiet reflection.
